HISTORY, VISION AND MISSION

HISTORY

Faculty of Economics Unsoed was established under the Decree of Higher Education and Knowledge (Menteri Perguruan TInggi and Ilmu Pengetahuan/ PTIP) No: 127 Year 1963 dated 9 October 1963. In the early years of its establishment, Faculty of Economics Unsoed was located in the building of Balai Desa Purwokerto Lor and building of Kesenian Jl. Ragasemangsang 384 Purwokerto. Later in 1971, the location was moved to Kalibakal Building until 1983, and in 1984, the campus was moved to Grendeng Campus until the recent year. Some programs conducted on those years were only Corporate Economics Program and Agricultural Economics Program, and the lecturers were mostly from UGM.

In 1974, Faculty of Economics Unsoed had graduated its first 24 graduates by passing the thesis defense examined by lecturers from UGM. Finally, in 1975 Faculty of Economics Unsoed had separated itself from UGM’s supervision.

Based on the Decree of General Director of Higher Education of Department of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia Number: 102/DIKTI/KEP/1994 dated 19 April 1994, Faculty of Economics Unsoed opened the Undergraduate Study Program (S1) for the Non-Regular (Extension) for Accounting, Management and Development Economics (IESP) Programs.

In the recent time, the Department and Study Programs available both for Regular and Non-Regular programs in Faculty of Economics Unsoed are:

In order to anticipate and to meet the demand of manpower market leading to the economic global, since 2006/2007 under the Decree of Unsoed Rector Number: Kept. 205/J23/KP/2006 Faculty of Economics Unsoed has conducted International Classes for Undergraduate Regular Programs in Department of Management, Department of Development Economics and Department of Accounting.

Becoming institution whose excellence to knowledge advancement and economic policies in order to overcome the regional economic crisis.

Mission

1.  Accomplishing continuous education to produce graduates whose morality, academic dedication and professionalism and graduates holding competitive excellence, ability to lead and to be adaptive.

2.  Accomplishing continuous research to knowledge advancement and economic policies relevant to the economic development and disseminating those research results to the society.

3.    Accomplishing community services to the society in line with the regional economic development and also disseminating its results to the society.

Objective

A. General Objective

In general, Faculty of Economics Unsoed has its objective to produce and to develop experts in the fields of economics who are able to professionally accomplish the tasks; in addition, they are able to explore and to solve some regional problems, and to concern with the environment, to be lively dynamic as well as to think globally.

B. Specific Objectives

•     Increasing the quality of teaching and learning process in order to produce graduates based on religious teaching, academic achievement and professionalism, having competitive excellence and the ability to lead and being adaptive in the recent development in line with the spirit of the age.
•     Increasing the quality of the lecturers and their teaching and learning processes.
•     Increasing the quantity and the quality of researches and their publications which are relevant to the mission of the Faculty.
•     Increasing the quantity and the quality of community services to the society as well as their publications which are relevant to the mission of the Faculty of Economics Unsoed.
•     Increasing the quality of the administration staff and their services.
•    Generating the Faculty development income.
•      Increasing the lecturers and the administration staff welfare in the environment of the Faculty.
•     Realizing the adaptive, efficient and effective working system order.

    What is the International Program?

International Program Faculty of Economics Unsoed an international class of 3 courses namely S1 Accounting, Management, Economics and Development Studies, and International Business Studies Program D3. Organizing study conducted at the Faculty of Economics, University of International Building General Sudirman.

    How curriculum, Introduction to Language in the International Program?

Curriculum Studies Program in Accounting, Management and IESP principle the same as the curriculum offered in the regular program, it is intended that graduates of the International classes have the same basic competencies to graduate education classes. The difference lies in the use of English in the lecture. Students are given extra English lessons non credits in semester 2, 3 and 4, as well as elective courses such as Chinese and Japanese. The addition of a foreign language course is intended to provide added value in the form of a reliable foreign language skills for graduates of the Faculty of Economics, University of International class General Sudirman. In semester 1 to 4 International class students are required to attend classes of teaching English conversation by a tutor.

     What foreign cooperation?

International Program has a partnership with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) since 2005 for the double degree program with two courses at UUM ie Bachelor of International Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration. Double degree program has begun to run since 2007 and is currently a student has graduated holds a double degree. Since its inception in 2012 has done double signer cooperation program with China for the Hebei University majoring in Accounting, Management and IESP. Currently international class has received students from Hebei University who perform joint degree program in Economics, University General Sudirman.

     What is a Double Degree?

The program is also known as twin certified program. Each student who participated in this program will receive a diploma from the University of General Sudirman and University Partners. Students participating in the double degree program will take 4 semesters at the University of General Sudirman before proceeding with the next 4 semesters at Hebei University or the University Utara Malaysia.

     How the Cost of Education in International Class?

Since in berlakukannya single educational expenses at the University of General Sudirman then the cost of education for the International class is Rp.4.100.000, 00 per semester for both S1 Accounting, Management, Economics and Development Studies International Business D3.

      How Opportunity International Class Graduates work ?

International class graduates prepared to work in a global and international markets . With the business knowledge and foreign language skills are reliable internsional class graduates have worked in various government and private agencies in Indonesia .

     What about scholarship opportunities ?

Students have the opportunity to participate in a scholarship program scholarships for outstanding students , excellent scholarship given to a student with a nem value of at least 8 and have a certificate of achievement in academic and non- academic . Since 2010 the international class has received excellent scholarship of the Ministry of National Education . In 2013 a number of 37 students have received scholarships of excellence. Students come from three departments of Accounting , Management and Economics Development Studies .

     What about the teaching staff ?

Teaching staff has the ability that has been tested and some are college graduates in foreign countries such as UK , USA , Australia , Thailand and Malaysia.
